Memento

Memento was originally composed as the middle movement of my marimba concerto, Concerto for Marimba and Choir. However, I’ve always believed this music would exist well in other forms, most notably as a marimba solo. In this publication there are multiple ways to present Memento, all of which serve the music and my original intent well. These performance versions include:

Marimba Solo (5.0 octave)
Marimba Solo (4.3 octave)
Marimba (5.0 octave) and Vibraphone Duo
Marimba (4.3 octave) and Vibraphone Duo

The Marimba Solo (4.3 octave) version not only adjusts the music to fit on a smaller keyboard, it is also slightly less technically demanding.

While it is possible to play the Marimba Solo (4.3 octave) part with vibraphone, that specific version is not seen in the enclosed score. However, other than the range of the keyboard, all else remains the same (measure numbers, tempo and expressive considerations, etc).
